Looks like I'm joining this thread as a second-round applicant. This season resulted in an unfunded MA offer and a slew of rejections; it hurts. Here's to a better year and internet hugs to those of you in the same situation.

Ha, thanks! I love her and wish I could whip her out of my pocket whenever I'm in need of some cleverness. This day is creeping by. Ugh.

I need a good way of distracting myself. What is everyone else doing -- if anything -- to make this weekend less awful?

I was also accepted to Toronto yesterday, no funding though. I'm thrilled about the acceptance but not sure what to do.

My bombardment of 3 rejections was followed by an unfunded acceptance. The financial aspect of it stinks, but at least it's an acceptance and an affirmation that my application didn't completely suck.

Checking in. I've been accepted to the MA program, but without funding. I'm thrilled but I just don't know how I can pull this off without a fellowship or other help. Has anyone else heard anything?

Rejected also, and I agree that the letter was unnecessarily cold.

Thanks for your kind words! I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be, but definitely disappointed. Looking forward to hearing something from the 3 schools I still haven't heard from.

Yay for another silent Monday. That being said, am I the only person who is so incredibly glad that Mass Effect 3 is coming out tomorrow? The timing couldn't be better. I need the preoccupation and my fear of spoilers will keep me away from the internet for a little while.

Very true. In February, I'd been hopeful about early answers but now that it's March I know that some news will be going out one way or another.
