  1. Hey guys, I will be driving down from Toronto to the US, and I was just wondering if anyone knows which border crossing is the best to get your visa done, etc. at. Thanks.
  2. I would have to say it all boils down to where you want to be after you graduate. If you want to be in NA then pick U of T, but if you want to be in Europe then go to SOAS.
  3. I can sympathize. Sometimes the political games within the department can have a major effect of you as well. Apparently I "sided" with the wrong profs at my alma mater and that was a major factor in my rejection. But I hope things work our for you. If you really want to leave then do it. There are always opportunities elsewhere
  4. Try EBay. Worked for alot of the books I needed.
  5. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on the single graduate student housing on campus?
  6. If you live next to a Subway station the commute isn't bad at all. The Grad Apartments are about a 15min walk to Chinatown/Kensington, so on the contrary, it is actually a really good location for groceries. Many students rent houses with 4 or 5 other people around Kensington, but the area isn't that great (no muggings or anything, just a few crazy people). Another area close to campus and popular with students is the Annex. Again, most of the places there are Houses. If you're looking for apartments, Bay st. and The Village are good neighbourhoods close to campus. Further out there's also Yonge/Eglinton and Yonge/St,Clair that are relatively close to campus (but you would have to TTC)
  7. I got a rejection email from them yesterday
  8. Starting this thread for everyone attending Rutgers this fall. Not alot of activity involving Rutgers on this site. Hopefully we can get something started on the housing hunt, issues, concerns, observations, etc. !
  9. About 60%, 55% if you count the school I haven't heard back from yet
