  4. Hey fellas! I just wanted inputs from all of you here as to how the city of Augusta is, I heard the Masters' is held there. But, please do let me know about the place in general! Thanks!
  5. @MEB05: I haven't got accepted into all of the above mentioned schools. I have got accepted into the Georgia Health Sciences University. I've got a rejection from University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. And I'm still waiting to hear from Marquette and Montana. Regarding Marquette, I've got an email saying that a decision was made on my application and they were writing the letters. They told me that I would be receiving them the next week.
  6. Hi all, I'm confused as to which school should be one to opt for? I have short listed four schools, so please let me know which one would be a better choice! Please do review it as a school offering a PhD program in Neurosciences. So here are the schools: 1) Georgia Health Sciences University, Augusta, Georgia 2) University of Montana, Missoula,Montana. 3) University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tennessee 4) Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Any inputs, opinions are welcome.

I can't tell you for sure, but you can expect to hear from University of Southern California and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I suppose we can talk on the mail.

  10. @vivek 21: You can expect to hear from University of Rhode Island and if you are lucky, you should hear from UMSL too!
  11. Hey Hemant! Boss, you profile is too good. Only for one thing, you don't have publications. I think you must have lost your chances there. Well, publications are not mandatory for getting admitted but they are a booster to you profile bro! Another thing, the schools where you've applied to are very big schools. Mark my words, very big schools. But you still have good chances of getting an admission. You can expect to hear from UMASS Worcester, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I was wondering why on earth didn't you apply for the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio? If you don't hear from any university this time, don't take it to heart. Even I was rejected the first time I applied. I worked two years, researched on the good schools to apply and then went forward with applying. And by the way, if you need any help, please do let me know. I would be extremely glad to help!
  12. Hi all, I have been accepted for the PhD in Biomedical Sciences Program at Georgia Health Sciences University(Medical College of Georgia). The department says that the stipends are awarded on a competitive basis and have told me that I would be notified via e-mail by the Dean in case the school offers me the stipend. Although the tuition fee is reduced to a very meager amount, I am still concerned about the stipend because that is what the PhD program is all about! Anyone going to GHSU? What are your views about the same?
  13. @SCellNeuro: What about my chances for M.S at the University of Montana?
  14. @emmm: I am constantly checking the surveys but the scores that students have put up are inconsistent with the propensity of being accepted or rejected. A low score was accepted sometimes and a good score was rejected and hence the confusion.
  15. @800meters and emmm: Guys, what's your opinion regarding the schools to which I've applied? Have you any idea about the way the admission process goes in these schools? Are they competitive enough to get an admission?
  16. @6682: Boss, I've applied for the Neuroscience program at Texas A&M. I haven't heard anything from them yet. I'm an international student. I actually applied for the interdisciplinary program in Neuroscience offered by the Texas A&M Institute of Neuroscience. But the university has forwarded my application to the Department of Psychology. I haven't heard anything from them, so I'm actually confused with what's happening. Also I've got an unofficial rejection from UTexas health Science Center San Antonio. Waiting to hear from you, my friend!
  17. @paulio: An excellent profile that you have, and you deserve the fantastic invites to the best universities! I wish you great luck my friend!
  18. @MEB05: Hey, I've applied for the PhD in biological sciences program. I've got another message from them which says that the Biological Sciences department is reviewing my application. Do you have any information about Marquette and it's Neurosciences program? What about the funding?
  19. I've applied for 7 schools and for the Neuroscience program, and I've got an unofficial rejection from University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. I had applied online and sent all my application materials way back in September, but haven't heard anything new from the universities except that "Your application is complete and being reviewed by the department". With Marquette University, I've got a mail saying that "Your file is complete and with the department now being considered for the Fall 2012 admission". I still fail to understand what this means?
  20. @MF2011; I can perfectly empathize with you. Same position with me too, and to make matters worse, I'm an international student. I've heard that international students don't have a good chance of getting an admit. I don't know how far is it true! 21. @TXTiger: She's pursuing her PhD now, and yeah she's my supervisor! She's an assistant professor. That's her designation as per UGC rules in India! That must have created the confusion, coz, a Professor is one who's finished his/her PhD, I understand. But this is how it is in India!
  22. @rising sun: Thank you so much for your valuable input. Yeah by Georgia Health Sciences University, I meant Medical College of Georgia. How about Marquette University, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis? I heard that the number of international students at Marquette and UNMC is quite significant. Could you provide me with any inputs or ideas regarding them?
  23. @virion: I'm currently working as an assistant in her lab, that's what I meant!
