  1. The letter I received this morning, stated it. I think NSERC is trying to be more transparent this time. I hope this helps.
  2. They will publish another result in June. I really wish you all the best. There is a good chance to succeed this year for short listed applicants. Once again, best of luck, and never give up!
  3. Its in Electrical Engineering (ECE).
  4. Ranked 10 out of 81. Just you know it. My overall score is: 81/100.
  5. Extremely delighted to pass this information. I won this year's NSERC PDF. I received my letter in Victoria this morning. I wish you all the best all as well.
  6. You should better send an email to NSERC and tell your story very briefly. They should correctly advise you; suggest you what steps to take next. Like the ocean that remains calm in its depths even when waves rage over its surface, and like the sun that continues shining on high even during storms, we can at each moment create value and develop our state of life, enjoying our existence to the fullest in times of both suffering and joy.
  7. Did any one received a letter in Vancouver today?
  8. Thank you for the information. Sorry to hear about it. Lately, NSERC had been really hard on students.
  9. I hope you will receive a positive letter by Tuesday noon. Please let us know. Thanks.
  10. If you have submitted two separate applications in the same year, I guess one will be void. Best you can do is to seek suggestions directly from NSERC. I am not sure how it works in this situation. NSERC webpage states however, that a candidate is allowed to submit only one PDF application starting 2013. Only those who applied for NSERC PDF in 2011 (for the 2012 session) and could not succeed were allowed to re-apply in 2012 (for the 2013 session). Also, NSERC PDF application (must be made within 2 years of PhD completion)! NSERC Visiting Fellowship Application (within 5 years of PhD completion)!!
  11. Thank you for the information. This information will be helpful to every one. Although a long waiting is never easy, we will hopefully receive our letter by next week Wednesday if not Tuesday. All the best for the good work you do every day.
  12. You must be very happy. Congratulations on your achievement, and thank you for the posting.
  13. Thank you for the information. I hope you will have other best opportunities waiting for you in the days to come.
  14. How nice it would have been if the NSERC online system had been as advance as its programs that support funding for 21st century science and engineering research projects!! What a contrast!!
  15. That.s a good question, something I should look at. I am not sure at this time if the PDF holders can obtain further supports from NSERC or not, within their tenure (other than the 5K UK topping), but if a candidate holds the NSERC PDF fellowship, many faculty members (in Canada or in the USA) are happy to top-up, up to 10K (sometimes up to 20 K) per year.
  16. Congratulations! You can now explore additional benefits that comes up with this scholarship, such as additional top-ups, two months of paid (on top of NSERC's fellowship) research experience., including paid travel cost, in Japan, etc.All the best.
  17. To the best of my knowledge, no mails will be delivered on Friday and Monday, Its Canada post, you know it!
  18. If the information has already reached to the research office of the far west of university in Canada, it must have reached to all of the universities in Canada (my guess). An hour ago, I personally went on to checking with the Department Secretary (for CGS-PGS) and then with the staff at the University research office (for PDF). The results are already in. No doubt about it. The results were already in with the research office and then it already circulated to the respective departments in the university where I am in. Its possible that the research offices in some other universities have not yet forwarded the result to the respective departments. I came to learn that the PDF results will not be available in the research office (or departments) unless the application was made directly through the university.
  19. Thanks for the information. This year, out come of the applications seems to have been out earlier than the last year. By Friday this week, everyone should know the outcome (my guess!). I guess its a time to ask the outcome of your NSERC application to your graduate secretary.
  20. When you said, you received an email from the department, did you mean by the secretary of your department (i.e., Chemistry) and not the FoGS? Just curious.
  21. I hope some one in this forum will soon say, Hurray! I received a letter from NSERC. All the best.
  22. If that's the case, it makes sense. Learning never ends!
  23. An CGS-M award is given to a PhD student in UVic Chemistry? I am confused.
  24. Location: University of Victoria; Application Season:Already Attending; Program:PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. CGS-M award offered to a PhD student? How come?
  25. I was ranked 3rd by the Department and I won PGS-D3. That was in 2008.
