  1. Thanks. But this is for last year not for this year. This is the scholarship distribution for Jan to March 2012.
  2. No, I insisted alot to even tell me these stats. But based on these numbers the waitlist chances would be less, I guess.
  3. I just called NSERC and the lady was kind enough to tell me that : This year around 100 applicants have been awarded the PDF and almost 37-40 (in total) have been short listed. I guess NSERC should close the PDF program as it is just shrinking each year.
  4. Congratulations. May I ask you what dept are in and possibly your stat?
  5. No it was just for phys/chem. The number of shortlisted people in each discipline depends upon the number of applicants. Last year there were almost 190 applicants for phys/chem. For ECE there was 241 applicants. So you might expect to have a higher number of people being short listed in ECE.
  6. No, I just insisted for a couple of minutes to let me know how many people in average get shortlisted. I sent a request to NSERC to provide me with the reviews for my application but they are not going to send it to me until June.
  7. Is there any body here from Mechanical/Civil Engineering who has been shortlised for the PDF award?
  8. Just called the NSERC rep for Physics and Chemistry to see how many people are shortlisted for PDf (of course I am in the engineering program, but the engineering rep did not give me a clear answer). He told me that in average they shortlist between 5-10 people and last year only 2 of them got out of the list.
  9. I know a friend of mine last year got out of the list. I do not know what was his rank. I guess in each category (e.g. electrical engineering) they shortlist 2-3 people and not more. That's just a guess.
  10. Yes, I am in the waiting list and yes they offred me the IRDF. But the truth of the matter is that IRDF is absolutely pointless. I would rather find a job in the industry instead of working for two years for a company that might result in hiring me and nothing more.
  11. Got my PDF results in Vancouver. Shortlisted.
  12. Hi Tasneem. Congratulations. I wonder if you can please share your stat with us.
  13. Thanks for sharing your stat. Out of these 8 papers, how many of them were published or accepted in the time of application?
  14. Congratulations. Can you please tell us your stat?
