Then I would wait to see which school gives you the most funding
-
Most schools will not give you funding if you do not enter funding the first year. If you are going for a masters, then you might be able to swing it. If you are going for a doctorate, don't waste your money and make sure they are funding you. As for what school to pick, what are your interests?

Yes that it is the program in public health, it is not a school of public health
-
bynbutterfly, you received admission to Brown Biostatistics?
-
If you are leaving after a particular junction (i.e. getting your masters) it is not looked down upon. A lot of people have problems with a variety of things. You may not enjoy the research that is going on there, you may hate the city, or the school, or there may be personal reasons for leaving. I don't think people are going to look down upon you for that. They will ask you why you are leaving and you better have a good story why you are leaving from school A to school B but other than that you should be fine.

To the poster that received admission to Brown Biostats, did you get into the PhD program? Where else did you apply to?

Check the results, people have already been accepted. Chances are you are not on their short list. -
When are you making your decision?

Biostat 2011 Phd Rejection or ad, offer?
Xero735 replied to bynbutterfly's topic in Mathematics and Statistics
I would assume that you were rejected. Most of these programs can only fund a small number of students. -
Anyone on here get accepted for the PhD program in Biostatistics?
-
BU is a good program in a strong area. I don't know anything about UW. However, I have heard great things about UMN. I applied to only Northeast schools because of family reasons. Depends on the type of program you are looking for but I think UMN is probably the best of the lot (in my opinion at least)

What major were you and at what school? Also, did you have any publications?
-
Arn what are your stats so I can compare. They told me they are sending out waves of acceptances and rejections still when I called today.
-
Where in the decisions thread, I was unable to find it
-
What were your stats? Did you contact BU to find out you are waitlisted?
-
Has anyone heard anything from Yale or Boston University Biostatistics yet? If so, what have you heard?

CUNY Columbia and GAtech are all very strong programs. I would look at rankings and go for 30-40 ranked
