  1. Good luck, but my experience with those schools is if you don't have over a 3.0 (and at least a 3.25) you probably won't be considered. I would advise you to consider lower tier programs with your current GPA.
  2. What and where are you looking to go (and what program)?
  3. By postage? What were your stats if you don't mind me asking
  4. JHU already sent out acceptances and rejections. Harvard has sent out rejections. Yale hasn't sent out anything but has interviewed various candidates. The general rule is if they didn't interview you or invite you to campus then you need to consider elsewhere.
  5. ya plenty of schools have results, which ones are you looking at?
  6. Could those posters who got into Boston University Biostats share their stats (degrees, schools, GPA, GRE scores). Thanks a bunch
  7. I wanted to get back to New England for family reasons. Thank you for the info, it is very helpful.
  8. Its entirely possible but I have a hard time believing Ivy League Public Health programs didn't make any spot on the list.
  9. The listing there seems fairly incomplete with respect to biostatistics programs. i.e. Brown isn't even listed, and Yale is only listed once.
  10. Hi all, Currently I am a doctoral student in a math department and am making the switch to Biostats. I have already applied to Yale, Brown, Harvard, and BU. I was invited up to Brown to visit their program. I know these are all typically good schools but I was wondering if someone has a ranking for biostatistics programs as I don't know how to stack any of them up. Thanks again
  11. What was your GRE and GPA? I'm trying to get in myself and see if I match up.
  12. Thank you again, lots of help. Any hidden gems as far as places to eat, book stores, cafes, and such and so forth?
  13. So I recently was accepted into North Carolina State University, one of my top picks. However, they don't have funds for me this year and I would have to impress them and get them next year. In the mean time, I would have to get jobs on campus. Anyone have any advice about how to start looking?
  14. I'm from Massachusetts, went to school in Massachusetts and this will be my first time moving. Any recommendations on good areas to try to look for apartments in?
  15. I have been accepted to one school, rejected from two, but still am waiting on seven. Is it advisable to call schools to find out? Or does this hurt your chances? Also, I have read decisions need to be made before April 15th, whats so special about April 15?
  16. I recently was accepted into LSU's mathematics PhD program I didn't receive any assistantships because I am on probational status until I graduate from my undergraduate institution and can't apply for any of the spots. My question is does anyone know how hard assistantships are to get? And if I apply for them in the summer are they even possible to get?
