  1. I'm in Ottawa but didn't get a letter today, only found out through my department.
  2. For people at uOttawa- if you email the awards people directly, they'll tell you your result. I got a CGS-M!
  3. Oh shit! This means there's probably a letter waiting for me at home... ah the suspense.
  4. Whoa I think this is the first report of actual mail for CGS/PGS.... are you in Ottawa?
  5. Congrats! uOttawa or Carleton? I want to know if I can call and get my result too!
  6. I'm from Ottawa, but my letter's getting mailed to my apartment... I'll let you know at the end of the day!
  7. Yep, I go to uOttawa and no one I know has heard anything yet. Not sure what that other guy's situation was.
  8. To sum it up, basically this budget isn't like the ones in previous years. There will be significant cuts, the kind that haven't been seen in about 10 years, to pretty much every department. This is why NSERC is waiting- all the applicants are ranked, they just need to know how many awards they can actually afford to give out.
  9. Ya, I'm at uOttawa and no one I know here has heard anything.
  10. All due respect, this is only one bit of information from one department. NSERC itself has given out several sets of conflicting information on when the results will be released, so for people that haven't yet received letters I wouldn't count yourselves out just yet. Given that the number of awards NSERC will end up giving out is almost certain to depend on the budget tabled Thursday, a likely scenario is that acceptance letters were mailed only to the top ranked applicants for which funding was 100% certain. This would mean that, depending on the budget, more awards may be given out.
  11. I have some new info! I heard from a source with the inside scoop that the letters won't be coming out until the budget is released. The applicants have all been ranked, but they won't know how many awards can be given out until they get the budget information. This likely puts us at early April for letters, sorry all!
