  1. 'Till the very end of the exam, I was pretty confident that I'm doing fine .... Turns out that I screwed up almost every Data Analysis question on the test, which is surprising to me, because I'm pretty sick at solving Data Analysis questions .... The funny part is that right now I continue to be unable to identify weaknesses in my Data Analysis knowledge, line of thinking and time management. On practice exams I make like 1-2 mistakes on the Q section and that's usually cuz I get distracted, cuz i get bored .... 2/12 on Data Analysis fully concentrated ... come on ETS, enough with the "random results" ...
  2. Previous GRE Started: Late March Goal scores: V150 Q170 A4.5 Practice test scores: V143 Q167-168 GRE test date: Early April Result: V145 Q156 A4.5 I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the result, waited for the diagnostics report: Arithmetic: 11/11 Algebra: 8/9 Geometry: 7/7 Data Analysis: 2/13 Will be retaking it in 2 weeks from this date forward .....
  3. Hi, Without any excuses, my unofficials scores are: 143 V 156 Q ~3.5 AW Unfortunately I cannot easily retake the exam. I know that frequently enough the criterias for Masters degree are lower than those for PhD, so i would like to ask you about your opinions. TOEFL 111/120 ibt. GPA - ~90%. My goals are: - MSc at the University of Toronto. - Canada. - MMath program at the University of Waterloo as an international student. - Canada. - McGill - Canada. Even if you don't have experience with those particular ( or Canadian overall ) universities, please share your opinions, do I have chances at those ( or similar ) universities with those GRE score ? ( International student ). Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello, In your opinion how relevant are is the V sections and the AW section on the GRE General test compared to the Q section for a person applying for *Master degree CS programs at Canadian universities? Is it worth it to invest a few months in preparing specifically for those portions of the test ? * 1) MMath CS @ U of Waterloo. 2) M CS @ U of T 3) M CS @ Alberta as Internationa student. Example: (NOTE: I've never taken the GRE ) V: 144 Q: 167 AW: 4.0 Is this a fail ? Do i have any chances at those universities with such scores ? Regards.
  5. Its probably possible, but they might compel you to take some extra courses, depending on the university. .
  6. Thank you for your responses, i really appreciate the provided information.
  7. Thank you for your response! I don't want to be impudent, but i would like to ask a few more questions if you don't mind. Since the industry here is entirely based on outsourcing, we have a lot of small companies ( 5 - 20 employees ) and most of us are actually only developers. There are rarely positions like "project manager" or "business analyst" so i want to ask about what are the options of a student graduating from such a program like UW MMath ? Are the most of the people graduating this program expected to become developers and then climb the corporate ladder or are they expected to be more qualified and take more responsible positions ? Best regards.
  8. Hello, I'm a software developer from Bulgaria, Europe ( i'm 24 years old and have 2 years of professional experience as a .NET developer ). I have a bachelor degree in "Informatics", which i'm given to understand, is the North American equivalence of a Ba Computer Science. What i want: I want to get a prestigious CS Masters degree in Canada for the purpose of using the university's networking to find myself a job as a developer ( in Canada ), then maybe someday to become a project manager and then someday maybe have my own software company. I have absolutely no desire for Phd or research in general. All i want is the diploma. Now what can i do about that: I have about 5.4/6 average from my studies, which is 90/100. I have a 114/120 on TOEFL iBT. I think i can score high results @ GRE General and GRE subject Math. I have professional certifications, work experience as a .NET developer, work experience as a Network administrator ( + still valid CCNA certificate ) My brother is a Canadian citizen and he recommended the MMath program in University of Waterloo. What i'm worried about that is the extensive use of the word "research" in the faculty page. So i'm confused here - even if i was able to get accepted in that program, what are my options after that ? Is that program suitable for a guy with my interests ? Will i have better chances for finding myself a job with such a degree ? Can you recommend a better program ? Best regards.
