  1. I live in Austin! I did my undergrad at UT and I've lived here for about 10 years. aside from the blazing summers, it's a great place to live. it's affordable and fun and beautiful. I loved going to UT, and have never known anyone over the years who regretted getting their education there.
  2. oh good! that must be a relief! I wish I could go, but I'm hopeful there will be more pre-orientation events in July & August. Have fun!
  3. az1 i sent in all of my paperwork earlier this week. fedex confirmed its arrival in nyc today and a couple of hours later I received an email (bulk) from tmizradi about the meet and greet April 26. did you get this? If not, I would call them. My paper acceptance letter was lost in the mail (causing extra anxiety!)
  4. is anyone attending the meet and greet on April 26th? I'll still be in Austin and can't make it, but if anyone finds out when registration begins, please post!
  5. You can't apply for financial aid (officially) until you've registered for classes. Someone that I spoke to in financial aid thought registration might be sometime in the next month, but it wasn't her department. However, you should have the FAFSA completed asap-- I think the deadline is approaching, and there is counseling to do through the FAFSA website and the promissory note to sign; those are things you can do now. On April 23 the Direct Loan application comes out, which has to be mailed in. There is no such thing as applying too early, as loans are dispersed according to the academic calendar, which is the same for everyone.
  6. I had a phone interview, but it was not on skype. The questions were focused on my school transcript, volunteer experience, and career goals, specific to the program I applied for (COPD). I was also asked about my plans for a transition to nyc. It was not at all long either, maybe 20 minutes, which left me feeling like something had gone wrong, but then I got in!
  7. awesome! I'm making a big move to go to Hunter, from Austin TX! It looks like we have 16 courses to complete in two years plus fieldwork. my boyfriend who just finished his phd suggested I get the reading lists in advance and do as much of the reading as I can this summer. I'm going to look into that. I'm especially nervous because I think I'm going to have to work part time too. yikes!
  8. I'm not sure if I understand the question, but from what I read on their site, you have field work 3 days per week and classes two days per week. Also, I just found out I was accepted into COPD yesterday! I'm really excited! Anyone else preparing to start COPD this fall?
