      I say you have nothing to lose by being bold. Remind them of your eagerness to study there, remind them also--if tactfully possible--that you have other offers.

      I also look ridiculous in suits (being one of those people who gets told his ID is fake). It's one of the reason I want to be an academic: wearing semi-casual clothes to teach.
