  1. Nothing too much to add, but good luck!! Whether we sit around anxiously, or not, the results won't change, so go out and enjoy yourself for the day, and if there is something to know, we will know at the end of the day
  2. Did they give any stats on the PhD programs? Did they give any stats on the PhD programs?
  3. Hmm, so do they just do a round of rejections during the early admission's process, and then deliver all the acceptances during the March announcement round?
  4. Thanks for sharing! Good luck with you as well Did you already submit your application? I submitted mine earlier this semester. Have you heard anything back from the university?
  5. I have applied to IHEID and Univ. of Oxford for a PhD in International Relations for 2014-2015 start. Is anyone else also applying to those institutions, or has anyone applied in the past? What was your experience like with the admission's process? -Bluebird86
  6. Alex, Hi there! A few factors play into my choice. I want to relocate and think Baltimore/DC is great! I like that the faculty have done research in my area of interest and held employment positions that I am interested in after. I like that Maryland in general has a lot of congressional support for what I want to do. I feel like the office was organized (although others have not felt that way), and everyone I've spoken to there has been extremely helpful and nice. I'm also interested in doing research and potentially getting my PhD. I'm going to do the MACO concentration, and I have a BA in Psychology. Let me know if you have specific questions because I tried to give a general summary. -bluebird86
  7. MissH I'd say being honest is the best. Think about what you want to do in the long run because even though the first placement is usually generalist, field placement coordinators will try and listen to your goals and place you with that in mind. They might not place you in that type of agency, but they will probably place you in an agency that they think will help prepare you for your goals. -BlueBird86
  8. @roxyshoe Have you tried contacting them? I heard a decision in about 6 weeks from when I applied. -Bluebird86
  9. Hi Grad-school-forum-sphere! I will be attending the University of Maryland in Baltimore this fall and wondering if any fellow forum-goers plan to attend as well! I'm not from the Baltimore area, so I'm wondering about housing, transportation, and things to do! Thanks! -Bluebird86
