  1. Does anyone know of a recent(ish) source that outlines PhD student attrition rates in Canada? A breakdown by domestic/international would be fantastic, but not needed. Something within the last 5 years would be preferable. I'll be forever in your debt if anyone can stear me in the right direction. I can't seem to find anything recent... Cheers!
  2. I got my letter on May 2 last year (in Vancouver). My guess is it will be similar this year. The waiting sucks and the competition these high stakes fellowships breed (within departments) is my least favourite thing about grad school. Best of luck everyone.
  3. Look at some profs in your department whose reseach aligns with yours. See what they list and use that. It's tough for people who don't know your specific area to comment on this. As an incoming doctoral student you should have some sense of what specific areas of philosophy you will be researching. What did you propose in your SOP/SOI?
  4. Received my letter this afternoon in Vancouver. Happily successful with a two year sshrc B 19.2/30 2nd yr PhD Education 3 pubs 7 conferences, (5 intl) 3 RA + 5 TA positions in last 2 yrs 4.0 GPA for my MA, 4.33 for PhD (2.6 for my first undergrad - ouch) Now maybe I can sleep tonight... Congrats to all who were successful and best of luck to those who apply next year.
