  1. I had a fun experience with Kent State: Their Grad admissions department for the university has different requirements than the SLIS. No biggie, that's typical. However, the SLIS, which you would think would be more on the ball technically, required paper versions and signed forms from recommenders. The general grad admissions site allows direct uploading. When I contacted SLIS, they assured me that people could submit online and they (SLIS) would still receive them. Just to cover my bases, I had one recommender mail a paper form as per the SLIS website instructions, and the other 2 submitted online. NONE of them have been received, despite all of them being mailed before mid January. No one can explain why this is, and the grad department at SLIS informed me that I must have done something incorrectly. They also refused to resend the email link for my recommenders to submit their letters online :/
  2. Thanks! That was my sense too, that it was not exactly exclusive. I also got a postcard (I'm an employee). I think it's because it's pretty much the newest program/school here (even though the Library school is obv. much older). They're trying to grow it. That said, it sounds fun and exactly the kind of thing I am looking for, curriculum-wise. *shrug* If I can afford it, I'm definitely going here. Funding decisions in March, I heard.
  3. Congrats to you both! I was also accepted yesterday. I applied for the Preservation of Information spec. I was wondering, ho hard do you think it is to get into the program? Because they gave no admissions stats and they aren't to be found anywhere on their site. If it weren't Umich, that would be a giant red flag for me.
  4. I'm still waiting on Michigan too, though I've heard it's sometime between mid-February and mid-March and funding is not determined until March at earliest. I'm obsessively checking though
  5. I applied to: 1. University of Michigan 2. Kent State e-degree 3. San Jose State I live in SE Michigan and don't want to move I'm interested in Preservation of Information/Digital Archiving
