Keep trying! Maybe the 3rd time is the charm. I applied to Norway last year, but I will switch to Sweden (sorry!) I'm a candidate, so this is my last chance :/
Oh good!! I'm actually glad to have someone on here applying to the same country!! Are you affiliating with a certain university??

I have a question for all you studying at foreign universities! When you submitted your application, did you have a letter from the school saying "If X gets the Fulbright, we will give X admission to our program?" If so, how do you get that letter without sounding demanding and actually GETTING it?
Thanks!!

Hey Kelseygwynne, I know your pain. I applied three times and to FINALLY be selected. I forgot if your project was recommended or not, but what made you change your country?
Ah kbui, you give me hope! I changed primarily because this past year has taught me a lot and my interests have changed. I just hope I've learned enough in these past two years to really help me this time.

I was a Fulbright ETA Alternate - Portugal a couple of years ago, I will be applying for a Fulbright ETA - Greece this year!
Good luck everyone!!
I totally give you props, this will be my second year applying and it's just a matter of time before you get the much anticipated congratulatory email!
Thank you!! I hope you're right

Hey ya'll!
I'm currently debating which MFA program to enter. I've gotten into The New School (can't afford), Columbia College Chicago (can't afford), NC States, and Florida International University. I am heavily leaning toward FIU because of their amazing faculty--Denise Duhamel is my favorite poet, oh, EVER--but I am still unsure and April 15 is fast approaching. Good luck to you all in similarly hard decisions!

I applied for an MFA in poetry and was accepted to: The New School, Columbia College Chicago, Florida International University, and North Carolina State University. Funding aside, I need HELP. Which do you prefer and why?

I'm applying for 2 MSW programs, and since I graduated with a Bachelors in English and not social work, they require two courses I have to take before admission. I found one online that starts Monday, but I don't know if I should pay the price of the class and book, or if I should wait until I know if I got in? The application said students can take the classes WHILE applying, but if I wait and just do it before I attend in the fall, do you think that would be ok too? I don't want to drop $1000 and then not get in. HELP

I didn't get it, second year in a row.

No, it's today.

This is probably a dumb question, but for those of you affiliating with a university, obviously when the app was due in October no one had been accepted yet. Does it matter if in your application you said you were IN THE PROCESS OF applying to the school? If/when you get in, should you notify Fulbright??
-
MOTHER. I emailed my advisor from my undergrad, and this is what he said...
It is today. You should hear late in the afternoon. Since you did not apply through the school though, I did not get any early notification.Frozen fingers are crossed. JS -
And YES, NCCC and State AmeriCorps are both VERY service oriented as opposed to Vista. I interact with clients and get my hands dirty, so to speak, all day every day.

Hi!
I am currently an AmeriCorps state member in West Virginia. I graduated from undergrad in May, and I started this in August. It is an amazing program! I love my placement in a homeless shelter, and I feel like AmeriCorps really allows you to find out what you like to do and lets you follow any path while you're serving. For example, I work all day, but I am also able, because of AmeriCorps, to serve at other sites when I want to to get hours. I am able to serve my community in so many ways. It also looks amazing on a resume, and is more personally fulfilling than my time in college. Good luck!

I'm not sure if it applies to all department. But just an update, I got an email from my potential supervisor today inviting me for an interview over Skype so I guess they really are already going through the applications.
By the way, I notice that you listed NC State in your signature. A friend of mine toured me around the campus a while back. It was great and the everyone was very friendly. The people I know who graduated from NC State are very witty.
EEP. I haven't heard anything yet, I hope that's not a bad sign. And I'm so glad to hear that about NC State!! One of their poetry professors is Dorianne Laux, and I LOVE HER!!

So my mom is coming to town tomorrow for a meeting (She's a fancy preacher boss) and she just texted me and asked me to go to dinner with all of them at 5:30.........I'm either going to be an excellent guest or the worst one ever. What if I miss notification because I'm being polite and TALKING ABOUT THE LORD?!?!?!?!?!?

I cannot believe it's tomorrow. I have a feeling my work day is going to go verrrrrrrrry slowly tomorrow...

Hi all,
I applied at McGill, Electrical Engineering, Masters. Still waiting too. I've been corresponding with a potential supervisor and he said that they are reviewing applications on the "later part of January" which means it should already be going on.
Do you know if this is for all grad departments at the school or just engineering? I hope all!
-
Hmmmm does that mean we are expecting it within the 5:00 hour??
-
Wait how do we know it's Tuesday after 5!? I missed that!
-
Hey ya'll!
I am waiting to hear back from McGill about a Masters in Medical Sociology. It would be in conjunction with a Fulbright, so I'm anxiously waiting to hear from the school and the Fulbright right now!

I find myself irrationally angry that is wasn't last week or this week (irrational as they did say the 30/31st). However, I'm now terrified since I know it'll be next week...
It really is something that makes me so angry, especially because there's no reason for it. They have to know the results by now and are holding them just because.

Hi everyone!
So far I've applied to UMichigan, UPenn, and UDenver. I feel good about them all, but I keep thinking I need one more school. I'm hoping to do primarily international social work and each school I am doing a dual degree program in except for Michigan, where I am applying for the Peace Corps program. Any suggestions for my last school?
