I told myself when I started all this that I wouldn't pick favorites. It's looking like this means I'm going to be making a lot of trips...realistically, 5 or 6? Only a couple of places I'm looking at are close enough that I wouldn't have to fly out, too.
As of today, I've gotten good news from 5/10 schools!
(4 acceptances, 1 all-expenses-paid visiting day)
I can breathe a sigh of relief, at least until it fully hits me that I'm going to have to pick one.
I'm up at this ridiculous hour writing a lab report - the sort of mundane, soul-eating project that second-semester seniors aren't supposed to have to deal with anymore.
Pretty much the only thing that could make this night better would be to get an acceptance email before I finally get to pass out for an hour or two. Or...maybe one will be waiting for me when I have to drag myself out of bed and go to class - it could happen, right?
I got a yes from Berkeley just before Christmas (yay!). I've applied to Northwestern and Stanford MSE (also UPenn and Penn State), and a bunch of other schools in either EE or applied physics.
Is it just me, or do the California schools do this faster than everyone else? Maybe it has something to do with the earlier time zone...
