just throwing this out there... some faculty/department heads look through these forums, so it can be a good place to show off both your work and your character. I think the forums become much more productive and respectable when we lose the anonymity. Just sayin'. Good luck with your applications y'all!

Thanks! Still waiting to hear back from 2 schools so who knows. I'm very excited though. Got into PennDesign and enjoyed my tour/interview. It's too bad the school is so expensive.

Got a call from Tulane this morning letting me know I'm in!

I happen to be in Philly already so I'll be going in. I'm with ya on the craziness. A friend of mine applied for printmaking and just went in for an interview on Monday. My guess is they'll interview or at least talk to everyone they're interested in. I have no idea about notifications but I assume they're still making decisions so it could be awhile yet.

Haha, same here... Can you make it to Philly or will you Skype?

I interviewed with Tulane painting faculty a week ago via Skype and haven't heard anything since.

Thanks for the response. The "landscapes" that I'll include in my portfolio are recreations of views from windows with paper cut to the size of the window's individual panes. My images fail to describe scale, as well as the relationship between the painted paper and the wall; both important aspects of the work. I should really include some installation shots but I hate to use multiple spaces in the portfolio on one piece. Tulane's appeal is mostly about location and funding but I'm also excited about some of the faculty and students. I have added UNO to the list and am also applying to a few residencies. I'm not so serious about the MFA that I'm willing to go anywhere. I am more interested in specific programs and places and wouldn't mind doing residencies until I get into a school that I'm excited about.
