Postbac Premed programs in the US for international students
C_Chattra replied to deea a.'s topic in Applications
I think you'd more answers at this website as it is more geared towards medicine: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/categories/pre-medical-forums.5/ -
Where are you applying to? I'm applying to MA at Wake Forest. I haven't heard back from them yet, but that's because the deadline is Jan 15th. Good luck!
-
I attended one of the HGSE virtual info sessions and they said checking yes will not affect admissions. Good luck! Anybody here applying to Ed.M. HDP?

144 V, 4.0 AW - anyone else with similar scores?
C_Chattra replied to C_Chattra's topic in GRE/GMAT/etc
DeafAudi, how was your AW score? Good luck 2nd time! -
I am wondering if there is anybody out there that got a VERY low verbal score and an okay AW score?
-
Hi all, so I just received my official scores today: 144 V 155 Q 4.0 AW I'm wondering if you think my average writing score will be any help. FYI, I'm applying Ed Psych, both masters and PhD. Also, I'd love to hear success stories out there about those who had low verbal but an ok writing, and got in Thanks!

My scores just came out: 144V, 155Q, 4.0AW... should I even bother applying? -
Will ETS notify us via email when AWA score is available?
C_Chattra replied to C_Chattra's topic in GRE/GMAT/etc
Wow! That's quite a quick turnaround! I hope you got the score you were aiming for -
Or do we just have to keep checking the website?
-
I did my undergrad in the US (top 15) so I don't need to submit TOEFL. That's actually a good idea... I will ask the admission to see if TOEFL can help replace GRE verbal
-
Thanks for your input. English isn't my native language so the verbal section has always been a challenge for me. I might consider retaking it. Do others have thoughts on this?
-
I just took the test today. I know my verbal is quite disappointing; I've been getting around 150 on my practice test so I don't know what happened there. Do you guys think these scores are enough for a masters in Ed program?

Manhattan vs PowerPrep discrepancies are puzzling
C_Chattra replied to makingmoves's topic in GRE/GMAT/etc
I have the same question about Manhattan vs. PowerPrep score. I'm taking the test tomorrow and will let you know which practice test align more with my real score. -
My verbal is horrendous... Think below 150. I don't really understand the disparity either. I'm hoping folks who've done Manhattan and the real test could weight in. As for the second PowerPrep, I don't really know what to tell you since I scores lower than my Manhattan and that definitely lowered my confidence a bit...

I have a similar issue and I'm taking the real test this Thuraday. Here are my Manhattan and ETS scores (quant only): Manhattan 1: 157 Manhattan 2: 158 Manhattan 3: 159 Manhattan 4: 159 Manhattan 5: 163 Manhattan 6: 160 PowerPrep 1: 153 PowerPrep 2: 155 Looks like our scores are somewhat similar! I've heard that the PowerPrep mostly accurately reflects the real score (but I sure hope not!). To answer your last question, I think you should relax the day before instead of doing another test. Good luck!
-
Thanks to both. I really need to chill!!!
-
I've been reading that Manhattan quant section are generally more difficult than the real test, but PowerPrep reflects the difficulty of the real test. That being said, my scores do not make sense at all! Does anybody got similar issue, i.e. scored higher in Manhattan Q, but got lower on the real test? I'm taking it in 2 days!!
-
I'm taking computer based test, but will need pencils for quant section.
-
Or does the test center provide them?

Anybody applying to HGSE EdM in Human development and Psychology or EdM in Preventive Science and Practices?

I'm bombing my GRE every time I take it. Please help?
C_Chattra replied to Just Jeff's topic in GRE/GMAT/etc
Cy213, do you mind sharing your scores on the practice tests, if you've done any? I'm anticipating my scores around your range as well and curious to see if your practice scores align with the real ones. -
It seems like you haven't used Manhattan before. How do you know it's 'garbage'? I'd like to get others' thoughts on Manhattan too (preferably ones who actually used it). Thanks.
-
Oh, I forgot to mention that on the first section of Q, I got 13/20 correct, and 12/20 correct on the second section. How in the world did that come up to a 163?!
-
I purchased the 6 practice tests from Manhattan and did one last week and today. The score from last week for Q was 152 and today was 163. That's HUGE difference! I wonder how reliable these tests are...
