  1. I'm applying for MS Applied Developmental Psychology at U of Pittsburgh and was wondering if I should tackle the diversity statement even if it's optional? And if I don't, do you think this will hurt my chance of admission?
  2. Those who got accepted to MA Psychology in Education, do you mind sharing your stats? Thanks!!

  6. I'm applying for MS Psychology in Education at Columbia TC this year and was wondering if my undergrad GPA will forever kill my chances. I have an overall 3.05 and my major GPA is 3.3 (went to JHU). A thing to note is I was placed on academic probation for having 2.05 in one semester (had family and personal issue), however, I had a pretty strong upward trend, and was able to finish my last semester with a 3.62 Dean's List. Since I graduated, I've been doing 2 years of research in education and one of my big accomplishment was being a co-author of a book chapter. I realize that my undergrad grades are pretty weak but I was hoping my research experience might be able to compensate that. What do you think? I'm SO nervous to even apply to this program!!! Thanks so much for any insight!!
  7. I'm interested in applying for the MA Clinical Psych (Psych in Education) program at Teacher's College, but I'm a little concern about my GPA. My overall is 3.05 and my major is 3.32. Also, I was placed on probation after receiving 2.05 in one semester (had family and personal issues), but I was able to finish my last semester with a 3.62 and was on Dean's List. Do you think the low GPA in that one semester will forever kill my chances at TC, or in grad school in general?? I'm planning on writing a letter to explain this extenuating circumstance... but it's really worrying me!! Any insights will be much appreciated
  8. Hello! I am new to this website and I've found the posts to be very helpful. Thanks for sharing all these info! I have a question about what documents do recommenders usually want from an applicant. I'm currently doing research and am thinking of asking my PI to write me a letter. Do they usually want a resume, statement of purpose, and college transcript? Not sure if this info will help, but I'm going to be applying to Teacher's College MA Psychology in Education program. Thanks for your help!
