  1. Thanks for replying!
  2. I've been curious to see what books other MSW'ers are using. Mine are: For my Social Policy class we are using: Social Welfare Policy and Social Programs: A Values Perspective, 3rd Edition, Elizabeth A. Segal. For my Law and Ethics class we are using Forensic Social Work: Psychosocial and Legal Issues in Diverse Practice Settings. And, Using the Law: Practical Decision Making in Mental Health Of course we supplement these with many other readings, but these are our main texts. I'm part-time, hence the short list.
  3. So I logged in yesterday and it was nice. Glad to see there where a few more faces there from different departments, answering questions. I'm just waiting from my last school to make my final decision. Has anyone gone to an open house in person?
  4. That's one I'm signing in for too. I wish they'd have a current student available to answer questions. I understand that might be tricky but it could work if they were willing to answer frequently asked questions, like what are the field placements options like, atmosphere, etc. Or at least a current faculty member.
  5. Hi, I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to any of Penn's open houses for accepted students either in person or online before making their final decision? Unfortunately, I can only attend online because I'm from out of state. Wish I could go in-person though to talk to current students and faculty.
  6. Hi sarahseee and sarahrose! Thanks for replying. Good luck to you both on waiting to hear back from your schools. Still waiting to hear back from Highlands myself, which is in my home state of New Mexico. I'm thinking state schools might take longer for some reason.
  7. Hi all, I've been looking all over for a thread on people who've applied for part-time status like me. Let me now if you're out there, cause I'd like to connect. : )
  8. Just thought I'd join in and say that I got into the University of Denver and University of Pennsylvania! Found out about both on Friday. So it was very good day! Keeping my fingers crossed for financial aid!
  9. Hi belvamarie! I submitted my Penn application Thursday, January 31st. I got an email saying my application was complete on Tuesday February 5th and I called that same day and scheduled a Skype interview with them for February 28th.
  10. Hi everyone, thought I'd jump in too. Just applied to three programs: Highlands University University of Denver University of Pennsylvania They all pretty much hit along the spectrum of colleges, so I'm pretty happy with my choices. I summited my applications for Highlands and Denver on January 14. (Haven't heard back yet). And the University of Penn on January 31. Just got an email confirmation for the interview this morning scheduled for the end of the month. Crazy nervous but excited! Anyone else applying for part-time status. I feel I haven't come across that yet. So thought I'd put that out there.
