Has anyone gotten an acceptance or rejection letter through the mail? Do any schools do that anymore, or is it just too inefficient?

In 2012 I got a rejection letter through snail mail. It was the only notification I got from that school. At least it was printed on very nice fancy paper.

I also got every acceptance letter through snail mail too, but arriving weeks after I got the PDF version via email. Regular mail from US to where I lived in Canada often takes about 1.5-2 weeks though.

Yeah, the one university I heard back from only sent the letter via snail mail. Very strange, especially because I am not even in the country right now. Had to have someone open it for me.

I received an acceptance letter through snail mail, the letter was basically just a single sheet of paper saying, "congrats!". When I got the envelope, because of the small size of it I was positive it was a rejection, after all, don't they usually come with letters to sign and send back for accepting the offer?? Any other paper acceptance I've gotten in the past has been after an informal email acceptance and has been basically a welcome packet.
