scr660 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Is it appropriate to send an email to the schools from which I got rejected, asking if there was any part of my application which was particularly unappealing? I was a little surprised by some of the results, and I just want to know where I went wrong.
Victorianna Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I would highly recommend doing this. During last season's application cycle I contacted my top choice to discuss what had gone wrong and the DGS was extremely helpful in discussing with me the application. As a result of the phone conversation I was also offered admission into the MA program. I assume that this is relatively rare, but you never know. Good luck! Additionally, you may want to share your info with Grad Cafe people who could offer advice on how you might improve your situation as well.
peppermint.beatnik Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Definitely do it. I would wait until after April 15th, but that's totally your call. You may be more likely to get a helpful (or any) response at that time.
