Not going to campus visit

Dear All,

 

I have recieved an email from a program saying that I was waitlisted for funding. They also mentionned a campus visit that I could attend even though they know I'm on the other side of the country and that it will be very expensive. The wording of the email really didn't make me feel like they expected me to come in anyway because of price and distance. 

Now my question is : will this hinder my chances of being accepted ?

No, it won't unless they specifically said you had to attend in order for your application to remain under consideration.
