kaban2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Hey ya´ll Does anyone have any feedback on Texas A&M Bush School MPSA program? I see a number of posts on the MIA program, but I have applied and been accepted to the MPSA program, with some funding that makes this one of the more financially reasonable options. However, it seems like this is a relatively new program and I am not clear on its caliber, caliber of students, etc. Does anyone want to share their insight on why they applied or accepted/declined their offer of admissions? A bit of background about me: I am interested in nonprofit management and philanthropy, with a goal of pursuing a PhD after completing the master's degree. Thanks in advance!
jxmp Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 If your goal is to get a PhD, then don't take out a lot of loans for a masters degree. I would go to whichever program gives you the most funding.
been_a_g Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I can't speak directly to the MPSA program, but I can tell you that the MIA program is designed as a professional degree, meaning that it's not geared towards those looking to go into academia and pursue a PhD. The MIA program doesn't even offer undergraduate or PhD degrees. I declined my admission/fellowship offer from TAMU. I attended their interview conference, and while I was impressed with the school, I wasn't impressed with the caliber of the potential cohort. Also, College Station is truly in the middle of nowhere and quality of life was limited at best. Hope this help!
