I have an offer from a school that I'm very interested in, but have been holding out on accepting it for a while in case I get off the waitlist for another school. My potential advisor from the school that has accepted me emailed again (after about a month of no contact) to ask if I had any further questions - I've asked the financial office a few questions about funding, but are there any questions I absolutely should ask the advisor?

I've been in contact with his grad students and talked about his advising style, the research they are doing, their impressions of the program and the area and stuff. Any suggestions on questions to ask I haven't thought of? Should I tell him I am almost 98% I will accept his offer, just waiting to make sure?

I would look at other threads on this site and see if there are any questions listed there that you still are wondering about. I would also not tell someone you're 98% sure you'll accept their offer and waiting. Just think about how that would make you feel if you were on the other side and receiving an email that said they were 98% sure they'd admit you but they're waiting to be sure.

Instead, you could tell them that you remain very interested in their offer and you still need time to decide, but that you will let them know as soon as you do!
