  1. no, you should not be worried about that, because it is ridiculous and not going to happen. a) how will the prof access this paper you wrote in undergrad? b ) since you can't find an exact match, how will they find an exact match? c) how often do PhD's get revoked for undergraduate offences (never)
  2. I still haven't gotten my Ryerson rejection...weird! got my Uvic one yesterday, though. Accepted Lakehead - looking unlikely I'll come off any waitlists and the research there is a great fit and my POI is so nice.
  3. Heard from Lakehead, didn't get OGS or even get waitlisted, kinda sad about it
  4. Pretty sure this was posted last year and the answer, as then, was no
  5. two not offered, two alternates, ryerson still just received by admin??? ah well.
  6. The CGS committees and the admissions committees are completely different, so you can get rejected with CGS for sure. It's unfortunate - sometimes can be used as a back way in but less likely in psych i think
  7. Three of mine have changed! I've been rejected from all of the schools I applied to CGS at, so it doesn't really matter, but it'd still make me feel good to be awarded one LOL
  8. I have an offer from a school that I'm very interested in, but have been holding out on accepting it for a while in case I get off the waitlist for another school. My potential advisor from the school that has accepted me emailed again (after about a month of no contact) to ask if I had any further questions - I've asked the financial office a few questions about funding, but are there any questions I absolutely should ask the advisor? I've been in contact with his grad students and talked about his advising style, the research they are doing, their impressions of the program and the area and stuff. Any suggestions on questions to ask I haven't thought of? Should I tell him I am almost 98% I will accept his offer, just waiting to make sure?
  9. I would agree with this - I applied to 9 schools this cycle and only was accepted to one, which was Lakehead, a school that many applicants dismiss due to its location (I think). However it is a perfect fit for my research interests, and has CPA accreditation, so I would also suggest looking at smaller schools in less ideal locations! Check out Lakehead Other good smaller programs are UNB, Manitoba has a good program as well, so does Regina. You may already be doing this so I apologize if this advice is repetitive!
  10. Anyone accepted anywhere yet? I'm holding out til CGS-M is announced, even though I didn't apply to CGS for the only place I was accepted.
  11. I did as well, in a PDF through email. Sad but I expected it
  12. I would also like to know this! It's unlikely anyone else is waiting on the Lakehead OGS results on this board, though
  13. Do you mind me asking what school waitlisted you? I'm waiting anxiously to hear back from the one school I am accepted to about OGS!
  14. Yeah I just checked that too, so I assume my rejection will be coming. Ah well, it was one of my top choices but at least I have an acceptance somewhere.
  15. Looks like someone got a rejection from UNB...good sign that I haven't received anything? Do they do second round interviews/offers if first offers are rejected?
  16. From speaking to some profs (I was an undergrad there) I know they sent out prelims a while ago and official interviews were supposed to be late January - but it's very prof dependent.
  17. update - the admissions committee has recommended me for acceptance! Official letter to follow.
  18. looks like someone got a rejection from UCalgary? If that's you, did it come from email? Who did you apply to?
  19. Official rejection from SFU. Knew it was coming, but blahhhhh. Looks like my 99th percentile GREs can't save my barely-over-min-required cumulative GPA. Waitlisted at Dal (because of my GPA), assumed rejection at Ryerson and UVic, definite rejection at SFU, pretty sure I didn't get a UNB or Concordia interview. Holding out hope for UManitoba, Calgary and Lakehead but honestly, not that hopeful. Got an interview for medical school at McMaster and honestly I feel like I'm more likely to get in there!
  20. I did apply to the clinical training track - my POI actually told me about the 25th/26th interviews when I emailed her way back in the fall. So fingers crossed I get an email haha. Thank you though!
  21. speaking of concordia, there's now a post on the results page saying someone got an email from their POI yesterday inviting them to interviews on the 25th/26th of January...so I guess emails would be this week?
  22. I haven't heard much - I"m definitely worried. I know invites for UVic and SFU have gone out so I'm assuming rejection there, if I don't hear from Ryerson this week I'm going to assume rejection, and I'm really hoping for something from Concordia soon because my POI said they'd send things out in 'Early Jan' but I know profs are just getting back to campus still...also waiting on UNB, Manitoba and Calgary but idk possible timelines for those. I know Lakehead doesn't often do things until Feb so I'm not /yet/ worried about them, lol
