First time applying this round... had 3 interviews but didn't get in...

i'm finishing up a masters up now but i'm losing the will..... definitely imposter syndrome happening.. feeling like i'm not good enough because three schools said so

I'm finding myself avoiding people and social scenes so I don't get the question of "did you hear back yet?"

i keep telling myself that at least i got interviews, but it doesn't help that everyone else who applied this year in my school got in..

gonna apply next year since some people i know only got in the 2nd and 3rd time they applied...

Are there any people out there who are going through/went through the same thing? Any advice/comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm sorry you didn't get in.

I know how you are feeling since it happened to me last year and this year again. Both times I had some interviews and ended up being accepted somewhere but without any financial assistance.

I also tried to avoid people for the exact same reason but it's a waste of time, you'll have to answer that sooner or later. Also, the people were really supportive when I shared with them what happened, so I think you shouldn't keep avoiding them.

The imposter syndrome is hitting me really this year too since after this round of applications, ALL of my friends who applied got into some school and I'm the only one left. Not only that but the fact that I always get some unfunded offer makes me think what is wrong with my profile that I'm good enough to get an offer but not enough to get financial assistance.

To face this I'm working really hard on my Master's, so far I got my name into 6 publications this year and I'm planning to start writing my dissertation soon.

I'm hoping that this will strengthen my application for next year and hope that I get in next time. As people say, third time is the charm

I just heard back from the second of two applications I had sent. Both rejected me :( No masters for me this year. At first I was hopeful and thought to myself "hey well I have a year to work on my resume and improve my chances for next year" but not even.. applications open up again in October so not too sure what I can all do in that time frame to make that big of a difference.

ugh. I was so confident. going to apply next year anyways.  Obviously not a great person to give you advice, but just focus on finishing your masters strong. The fact that you are already IN the masters and almost done speaks highly of you. Don't give up now!
