University of Toronto or McGill?

I don't know about the relative strengths of the two universities for your discipline, but a factor that may be worth considering is that it is much cheaper to live in Montreal.

Agree with high_hopes about rent, but also if you do not speak French well, your social life in Montreal might not be limited. Day to day activities are fine, but it might be awkward to be in a group of friends who prefer to talk to each other in French.
