jave-mtr
Hi, first post here, been following the board during my own "application ordeal"! I received a letter in the mail today from one of the schools I applied to. It states that the department's admission committee is recommending my admission to the Graduate School. I should be hearing from Graduate Admissions on their decision soon. I'm really not sure what to make of this. Is this pretty much a done deal and Graduate Admissions merely a formality, or does this mean I still can't be sure of anything because Grad Adm might have a different opinion??? Kinda confused right now! :?: Thanks!

bobwhoops
Don't worry, you're in. Congrats Basically they're just checking that you're not a convicted serial killer, didn't get a 250 on your GREs, etc. It's pretty much a formality. Shayna
It's just a formality. Consider yourself accepted!
Minnesotan
Provided you didn't lie on your application or forge any documents, you should be good. Congrats!
Gumby
What about this, from my potential advising professor... Dear xxxx, I am placing your name on the list of candidates forwarded to the director of graduate students. Where he ranks your application in terms of admission and financial aid is his decision. That sounds like pretty much the same thing, but in a much more ominous tone...
