Esenabla Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I'm very interested in the work being done in the sociology department at The New School, but I've heard funding for PhD students is a nightmare. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Also- I was surprised as to how low in the rankings NSSR stands. Their faculty members are well-known and they produced Berger, after all. Does anybody know why they fare poorly in the rankings? thanks in advance
StructuringStructures Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 It is still the case. The school lacks an endowment, so it's always cash strapped. School rankings are arbitrary, but it's low rank is probably due to faculty hires and graduate placements. Go there if you really want to work with the faculty, but good luck with the teaching load MME 1
