LaceySpeechie Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 I'm in the process of writing a Statement of Purpose for Speech-Language Pathology graduate programs, and one program is asking a question that's leaving me stumped. "Describe yourself. We're interested in learning about you as a person." Does anyone have suggestions for what I could write here? I'm really just not sure what the committee is looking for, or how to make a description of myself flow into the rest of my essay. I've already written about issues in the field that I am interested in (connecting that back to my employment experiences), and my professional goals for the next 5 and 10 years (tying that into why this particular school is a good fit for me), thereby answering the other questions asked of my sop. However, I'm just at a loss as to how to describe myself. I'd appreciate any help or advice!
lovekilledinos Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 I'd take it as a personal statement, they want to know who you are and where you came from. What got you to where you are now? It's supposed to be personal and less focused on your academics. It's your chance to be a person! Show your quirks and things like that. loffire 1
