turgotine Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Hello, I can see that everybody is tense because of waiting. Two weeks ago I sent an e mail to a department I am applying to, and they told me that most of their decisions have been taken already and if I didn't hear from them it might not be a good sign. Well, I keep checking my application status every day and still nothing! no rejection and no mention of waiting list. Do some departments are playing and make us wait only to say: "sorry you failed!"
Summit_Bid Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I know what you mean. I've heard from 14 out of the 15 schools I'm applying to long ago. I'm waiting on that one last school (my last choice and likely a reject) and they emailed me and told me desicions would go out the first week of April via postal mail. Arrg!
jeanne Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I got accepted into a school in January (via email from a professor), but still haven't had an official letter. Unofficially I've been told I'll have full funding, but I want it in writing so I can resign my job! I keep thinking that maybe they changed their mind and are not going to offer me funding for some odd reason, just so I won't come. But I try to tell myself that there's no reason for them to play silly games like that and I'm just being paranoid. I think they probably just don't think about me as much as I think about them.

At this point, I think we are all getting paranoid...
ootg Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 At least we have this unofficial support group here... Can't imagine if I had to cope on my own, with an information vacuum. Somehow, knowing that I'm not alone makes me feel slightly better.
