Ccgrl1 Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 With the online programs how are you all finding clinicals to fulfill that portion of the degree?
slporbust2016 Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 I've found mine through networking, other SLPs helping me, and cold calling until someone says yes. Starting very early is key. katherinexo 1

I wonder if they would give any leads to students who are having trouble securing their own clinicals.

I'm sure it depends on the exact program and what connections they have existing, but yes, mine will. The plus side of finding your own clinicals is that people are much more willing to work with your schedule and be creative about how it gets done. It was the part of the program that concerned me the most, but in the end, I think it actually worked out well for me as I've been able to do clinicals that met my personal needs. FWIW, this is the same process I'm about to use again to find a job. It's just part of the professional world.
