sleazydonkey8 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Hello all, I am interested in applying to a PhD program to research epigenetics, epigenomics and gene regulation. Programs I'm looking to apply at include USCD, UWashington Seattle, U Utah. Any suggestions of programs would be super helpful. I am not the strongest candidate (3.2 GPA), so I likely won't get into the big name universities. Cheers! Neuromantic 1
2pai Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Your choices are pretty great! I would also add the University of Pennsylvania, since it has a lot of great research in these fields. Also, your GPA isn't the most important piece of your resume, so don't worry too much about that making you a weak candidate. Good luck! Neuromantic 1
fux Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 (edited) Not sure whether you still need answer and whether those programs closed the application or not, but since you have a clearly defined research interest (which I'm also interested) I'll suggest go through the list of ENCODE/ROADMAP/4DN members list and find the faculty and school you like-- does not have to be senior PIs: some new AP also have good connection within the consortium and also conducting good projects, and they may have a higher demand of students than senior PIs.
