Hi all, I have a question regarding the conversion of GPA.

Outside the U.S., say, Japan and Korea usually have a GPA scale of 4.3 instead of 4.0, and some of the university even don't display students' GPAs on their transcripts even though they have a calculation method.

I am wondering if international students should convert the GPAs themselves or just leave it as blank as some application system says, "don't calculate your GPA if its not showed on your transcripts."

On the other hand, I also found some professors' preferences for clear GPAs in the app system when they posted their suggestions on how to apply.

I am thus bewildering and I really want to hear your suggestions!

Thank you!

I am curious about this as well. To add to the OP, some schools provide a percentile that provides a clearer picture of where I stood in terms of actual performance. But when I converted the gpa and percentile to a 4.0 scale, the numbers were different (3.69 vs 3.81 or smth).
