DZ1 Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Hi all! I'm new here. I submitted my first batch of applications several weeks ago (mostly for cognitive psych PhDs; my interests are interdisciplinary). My GRE scores were okay (percentiles were 93V, 72Q, and 98A); I have more than a year of research experience; two conferences; graduated with two majors, middle honors, and a 3.9+ psych major GPA -- overall a decent candidate academically. But how do I make myself stand out among all of the other overachievers? This is the most anxious I've ever been! I have so many ideas (I write study ideas whenever I have a research question) that I want to share with the faculty members I put as my first choice, but I hadn't reached out to them before submitting my applications! Do you think it's too late to email them now and introduce myself and share some prospective research topics? Thanks in advance, and good luck to you all!
loffire Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 I think now is a little late to contact them if you haven't had prior contact. Your stats look pretty solid so I'd suggest holding tight till they contact you. That's when you can share these ideas! DZ1 1
