  1. Are all interview invitations sent at once from a given program? In other words, if University X sends out a bunch of invitations in Week 1, what're the chances that in Week 3, additional applicants will be invited to interview?
  2. My research interests are very interdisciplinary, so I've been applying to both social and cognitive programs. The Social Psychology PhD at University of Delaware really appealed to me, and I'm so anxious because I saw on the results section here that a few people have already received interview requests... I did NOT have prior contact with POIs, though, and am worried that that'll screw me over! It sucks, because on paper, I look pretty competitive: GRE: 163V, 159Q, 5.5 AW. Overall GPA was 3.77, and psych GPA was higher than 3.9. I also have more than a year of research experience, two conferences, joined half a dozen honor societies, and was co-founder of a literary publication at my alma mater. Applied to 10+ schools so far and haven't heard back from any Someone give me emotional support ??
  3. Hi all! I'm new here. I submitted my first batch of applications several weeks ago (mostly for cognitive psych PhDs; my interests are interdisciplinary). My GRE scores were okay (percentiles were 93V, 72Q, and 98A); I have more than a year of research experience; two conferences; graduated with two majors, middle honors, and a 3.9+ psych major GPA -- overall a decent candidate academically. But how do I make myself stand out among all of the other overachievers? This is the most anxious I've ever been! I have so many ideas (I write study ideas whenever I have a research question) that I want to share with the faculty members I put as my first choice, but I hadn't reached out to them before submitting my applications! Do you think it's too late to email them now and introduce myself and share some prospective research topics? Thanks in advance, and good luck to you all!
