Emailing current students

I had a skype interview and they suggested I email the current lab members and ask them about their experience. Any help on what I should ask and how I should format it? I overthink these things.

@nebulousmilk Just send an email stating that you just had an interview with Dr. *name* and I am curious to see how the lab runs, your research and anything else you are interested in. Remember they are students and usually people love sharing their experience. If  they do not email back this could be due to a deadline coming up or the holiday break but definatly email them!
