Hi everyone. I am an applicant for the Ph.D. en Educational Policy (SHIPS) program. Has any SHIPS applicant recieved interview invitations?

I read on another thread that Stanford GSE does not always interview all applicants but I´m not sure if thats true. However, someone has posted on the results page that they had an interview on January 25. Does anyone have a better idea of how the process works?

Best of luck to everyone.

Hello! Yes, I looked through all the past results, a person directly got admission from Stanford GSE without interviews but it happened in 2005. Not sure the current procedure.

Have you got connected with your POI before?

I applied to the Ph.D. in Economics of Education (SHIPS) program and I have been trying to find an answer regarding the interview procedures. Here is a post from Stanford SHIPS page back in 2014. I also remember them saying that there is no formal interview process when I called them before the application deadline; however, it seems that the majority of the people that were admitted had some sort of an interview/conversation with their POIs.

In short, it seems to me that not getting an interview does not qualify as an implied rejection; however,  it is not good news either.
