KevinJHa Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Hello Hello Hello It's been a while since I've been on here, but an approaching summer of unfunded insecurity has brought me to seek advice. I am a Sociology graduate student at Northeastern (Boston, MA), and was just denied the three summer positions I applied to for the summer. I do not have funding but also need to pay rent. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences on what they did in the summer? Thanks!
syza Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) Might be good idea to get a contract job that could feedback into your academic studies, like one that involves data analysis if you're quant focused or field ethnographic experience on an aspect you want to study if you're qual focused. Reaching out to friendly faculty and students with connections can't harm either. Edited March 23, 2019 by syza
MarineBluePsy Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I'd reach out to faculty in your department and the graduate college at your University and see if anyone knows of any opportunities. This isn't the first time this has happened and usually someone knows of an opening somewhere.
