Anyone else decline online program that you deposited to?

I'm thinking of declining an online program-but I submitted a deposit already there.

Is it ok to email them and tell them I will be accepting another school?

Yes, I did that recently for the first school I put down a deposit for. I felt awkward at first, but they understand that there is a LOT to consider when choosing a grad school. I emailed the program coordinator who then forwarded that email to the appropriate person.
