University of Wisconsin- Whitewater

Just been accepted to UWW and thrilled! Looking to see if there are any current students/ graduates who can give a little insight to the program? Workload, how many days a week are classes, faculty, etc.

I went there for undergrad. The professors are unorganized, I only heard things about the graduate program from students in it while I was an undergrad. It seems they care more about the graduate program than the undergrads. But that is just my experience. Overall it is a highly rated program that is pretty well known. You work with two different populations in their clinic and have an outside internship. You first work with kids then in your second year you are set up to work with older adults, mostly with traumatic brain injuries. From what I know the workload is pretty standard, the classes are M-F with clinic hours factored in. The faculty is fine, but like I said can be unorganized, at least some professors. If you have more questions about the school, I'd be happy to answer them for you!

I also went to UW Whitewater for my undergraduate degree and can agree with this. I have heard very good things about the graduate program, but in undergrad it felt very unorganized. I felt underprepared for grad school personally and had to do a lot of my own research to get accepted somewhere. I graduated in 2016 so times have probably change as well. I also know the graduate program is very small and in a good location, which is ideal for a lot of people!

Hey SLPLauren! 

I too, just got into the graduate program. Can you tell me about your experience so far? Workload, quality, class days? I would probably be commuting from the Milwaukee area. Not sure if it would be too much!
