Hello,

I got into my dream school...and want to go there.....But I just heard that my company is going to promote me to a senior level in July. I won't be able to find it out exactly until July but I have to say something back to my school by mid-April. I am planning to say - yes I will come.....to my dream school. But if I find out about promotion later, I think I would want to to stick with my job. But if I don't get promoted, I would go back to school for sure.

Can the school sue me for going back on my words? How should I deal with this?

Your inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!

if you say yes now and change your mind later you'd be screwing other potential students over.

I highly doubt they would sue you. People drop out of grad school all the time.

If your employer is going to promote you to a senior position then they must really want and value you as an employee...why not ask them (if and when you are promoted) for a sabbatical so you can go back to school with the possibility of returning to your job if things don't work out?
