Hello all,

I'm looking into pursuing a doctorate in higher education in the near future, but would love to be able to continue working at my current job in higher ed. I know there are plenty of online EdD programs out there, but I'm wondering if anyone knows which ones are more reputable. I'm not looking for Ivy League or anything like that, but I just want to make sure that the program is sustainable and instructors are good.

Thanks for any insight you can give!

I have applied to all part time, distance or blended learning programs, due to my full time work. They are as follows:

1. Illinois - EdD Global Studies in Education

2. U.Virginia - EdD in Curriculum and Instruction

3. Purdue (West Lafayette)- PhD in Higher Education

4. U.Florida - EdD in Curriculum and Instruction (Educational Technology)

5. Kentucky - EdD in Educational Leadership

6. SUNY Albany - PhD Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Theory, Design, and Technology)

7. Lancaster University (in the UK) - PhD Education and Social Justice

8. Western university (in Canada) - EdD in Community leadership

These schools are prestigious, well known and 6/8 are in the top 1% of universities worldwide. The others (Kentucky and SUNY-Albany) are in the top 2%.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have heard good things about Penn State University's part-time program.
