some questions about pratt's information experience design (ixd) program

hi everyone

so I applied to Pratt's IXD program but wanted to learn more details while I wait for a response.

for those of you currently studying it / alumni:

• How much has it prepared you for a career in UX? What did it lack?
• Is it mostly design or more scientific? (i.e. are you working with programs like Axure and Sketch, or other things)
• has pratt given you good industry connections?

 

i don't have a background in ux, but I've done light web design and coding. I know UX would be a lot more involved, but I'm drawn to it. 

i'm open to hearing anything else you want to share about the program
