spicysofritomayo Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Hi people, I just got admitted by the graduate school with the option to work on a masters non-thesis at Civil and Environmental Engineering with no financial aid. If there's no financial support the admittance is basically useless for me since I'm from a low resources family and I barely payed my Bachelors with my academic merit scholarships. What sort of financial Aid can I expect form the graduate school?
2020bioE Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I am an undergrad at UIUC in the college of engineering. As far as I know, non-thesis masters programs here do not offer much in the way of financial support (you can't TA AFAIK). I think a possibility for you is to seek external fellowships or scholarships that support low-income/URM students. You could also apply for fellowships based on merit -- if you got into UIUC you're a very strong applicant. spicysofritomayo 1
