Anyone accepted to the MPP program at American SPA receive a notification about merit funding yet? Reached out about a week, week and a half ago and they said they’d start evaluating last week and send out notifications over the next few weeks, but I’ve yet to hear back.

I applied for the MPA program and received news about funding on 2/25. I'm not sure if they sent all of them out in one batch or if they're informing people in waves, though (I submitted my app well ahead of the deadline).

Did you have to accept their admissions offer before finding out? I’ve been letting mine sit as I wait for merit consideration and other school decisions.

I did apply a few days before the 2/15 deadline so hopefully they’re informing people in waves.

Nope, I had not contacted them or accepted the admissions offer.

I was contacted yesterday (2/26) with an aid offer. I also hadn't contacted them or accepted an admissions offer. I had submitted in late January -  I wouldn't be surprised if it takes another week or two for you to receive an offer.

I haven't heard anything back yet wither but reach out a few days ago and was told they would give me their decision early next week.

Update: I received notice of my financial aid offer. I got the Coverdell!

Anyone considering American as a top pick? What are your thoughts?

Pros of American:

1. Top notch facilities (they had a massive reinvestment)

2. Convenient DC location that is on the Metro

Cons of American:

1. Limited brand equity - even in DC (University of Maryland's program is viewed better than American)

2. Limited national presence. Hilariously, I was at a research presentation event @ American University and I didn't see anyone from American University present

3. Prestige wise, you play second fiddle to the IR program.
