fifia Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 I've gotten in to several MA programs and I am planning on going to visit the campuses over my spring break. These are not accepted student events and there won't be any sort of interaction with faculty - it's just a campus tour/general information thing that they offer year round. Is it weird if my mom tags along? Im happy to have her there, I just want to make sure it won't be super unusual.
emhafe Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 No, that's fine! I just met a perspective PhD student and her parents happened to walk across campus with her so we invited them along for the tour. I'm close to my parents and couldn't imagine moving to a new city without them viewing the campus too! I wanted their insight. It's totally fine. Also, congrats on museum studies! I'm a public historian--yay museum folks!
unwelded Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 A campus tour is fine-if it was a recruitment visit day with the program and faculty and potential cohort then no.
