futurespeechpath1
I know this is a silly question, but when first round of acceptances go out do programs accept the same amount of people as there are seats or a little more than that knowing people will decline the offer? mhocking
I know at Indiana State University they accept more than the number of seats available, like maybe 5-10 more, because of trends that suggest that many will go elsewhere! futurespeechpath1

Thank you! I had a feeling some schools accept slightly more than the amount of seats they have but was unsure!

mckennahslp
I've always thought/figured that most programs send out at least a full cohort of acceptances at first, maybe a small percentage more. Obviously, not all schools are the same. It can be assumed that the first set of acceptances won't all choose said school, which is where second, third, etc. groups of acceptances are sent out. ASHA's edfind resource helped me during my research and you can calculate the acceptance rate using # of offers/# of applications received. Hope this helps!
