How many people do programs accept initially?

I know at Indiana State University they accept more than the number of seats available, like maybe 5-10 more, because of trends that suggest that many will go elsewhere!

Thank you! I had a feeling some schools accept slightly more than the amount of seats they have but was unsure!

Some schools post this info on asha ed find, actually! I found one school that made offers to like 20 extra people

Oooh really?? Let me check now, I didn't know that! Where can I find that? At the top or bottom of the page?

I've always thought/figured that most programs send out at least a full cohort of acceptances at first, maybe a small percentage more. Obviously, not all schools are the same. It can be assumed that the first set of acceptances won't all choose said school, which is where second, third, etc. groups of acceptances are sent out. ASHA's edfind resource helped me during my research and you can calculate the acceptance rate using # of offers/# of applications received. Hope this helps!
