Caltech ee ms or UIUC ece phd

I received the ms offer from Caltech ee department. However, my final academic goal is phD, so I want to know the probability of being admitted by its phD program after complete the ms degree. I also received the phD offer from UIUC ece department, so I want to make the decision based on this probability. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think everyone is accepted to Caltech as an MS student, so there is a high probability of switching to PhD. Also, what area are you in EE if you don't mind me asking? I am also waiting to hear back from Caltech.

My field is machine learning. Actually, if you apply for a MS program, you need to check on the apply web yourself. I didn't receive any email from caltech.

Hi I have a question of your comments. Did you apply for MS program for Caltech or you applied PhD but they offered you MS? I hope you can tell me if you see this..
